Summer Pop-up Returns with a New Look for 2016

We love a Summer pop-up, especially when it involves killer cocktails and street food galore, so obviously the team jumped at the chance when we were invited in to see this brand new pop-up on the rooftop of the Marriott Park Lane Hotel.

You may have visited it last year when it was known as Roofnic, but this year it has undergone a massive overhaul and opened as Notch LDN a few weeks ago, with more of an industrial look and feel. The space has a really cool, relaxed vibe about it, which takes guests back to school with wooden benches and swings. On a warm Summer’s evening, this was exactly what we needed after a long day of site visits, to enjoy the Sunshine and a few cheeky cocktails, whilst overlooking Oxford Circus.

The menu focuses on street food with a Japanese twist, which is all cooked and served from a quirky little shack at the back of the venue. The menu is simple, yet delicious from the succulent pork belly steamed buns, to the smashed crab crunchy tortilla’s which went down an absolute treat (I think after our second helping it is fair to say this was our favourite dish of the night!). The fun pop-up also has a creative list of cocktails some of which includes an Old Fashioned or Negroni presented in a tuna can – it’s not all about cocktails in teapots any more kids! 

As well as a great spot for after work drinks or a relaxed weekend, the venue can also be hired exclusively for events for up to 100 guests on certain days throughout the Summer.  It won’t suit everyone, but if you are looking for something understated and informal for a Summer party, this could work for you, and the canopy provides shelter should the Great British Weather let you down.

The team at Venue Search London had such a great evening at Notch LDN, enjoying cocktails under the stars; it’s fair to see we will definitely be returning!
