As the cold sets in, all I want to do is get cosy under a blanket and watch a movie while stuffing my face. As you can imagine, it doesn't do much for my social life or my summer bod, so i've made it my mission to have it all, by scouting out cinemas in London that will look great on my Instagram, but really be a great night out!
So, London being the buzzing city that it is, constantly offers us a night out with a twist. As I mentioned, I want to watch a movie, away from the cold, but preferably not leave my house. These cinemas are the perfect solution to my dilemma! From rooftops to secret hideaways, these are the coolest cinemas right now and definitely not worth missing, even for the anti social winter hibernators among us
The Backyard Cinema
These guys really know how to make watching a film, way more than just watching the screen. Their home is at Mercato Metropolitano near Elephant and Castle tube. If you haven't been here, you should. Vendors are made up of small scale farmers, local producers and members of the local community. It has such a cool vibe and if you want some mind blowing food before your movie, I personally can promise you won't be disappointed.
Anyway, I digress..
After your food, head to the cinema. Grab a drink from the bar and then go find your huge bean bag seat. If you've gone premium, grab a blanket and get comfy! Right now the theme is Snow Kingdom. Think of secret caves, frozen lakes and an enchanted castle. I am not joking. I don't want to ruin the rest, but I know you want tickets for tonight. Unfortunately, this place is very popular and tickets are flying off the shelves...
The Secret Cinema
As predictable as I am, I received tickets to the Secret Cinema as my Christmas present. I hadn't heard of it before, because as the name states, it is "secret". This a cinema run by a team fighting the war against our over advanced technological world and the infinite amount of information available at all times.
Just a word of warning, if you do end up getting tickets, you won't know what you are going to or where in London. A bizarre, but thrilling experience. I am still awaiting my location and date and loving the suspense.
This is a totally immersive, 360 degree participatory experience (Maybe don't sit on the front row if you get stage fright, I certainly won't) who knows what will happen? From abandoned buildings, to huge outdoor projections, expect the unexpected.

Rooftop Winter Cinema at the Berkeley
Inside us all is someone that loves a little bit of luxury every now and then. I have combined my January exile with the Lady of Leisure inside of me. The Berkeley, being a 5* hotel in Knightsbridge, is a pretty sensational backdrop for a cinema.
This is not an ordinary, run of the mill cinema, it is a Winter Rooftop Cinema. An exclusive, very intimate experience. With only 8 seats are, this is exclusive and most definitely glamourous.
Up above London, you will lounge on big fluffy cushions draped in fur and hugging hot water bottles. It is everything you could have dreamed of. Sip on mulled wine, hot chocolate, or if you're feeling extra fancy, a bottle of champagne.
Without a doubt this is luxury from start to finish. I know what I am buying on payday...
As you can see, for the hibernators and sofa lovers, we can combine all our needs into one perfect night. Mission accomplished!
