When it comes to booking your next London Conference venue, delegates are always looking for something new, inspiring or quirky to keep things interesting. Read here for Clare's Top 3 Alternative London Conference venues for a venue hire with a difference...

Morton Society, City

The newest addition to the Camm & Hooper collection, Morton Society has quietly popped up in the heart of the City, just a 3-minute walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations.

We find clients are often looking for an event space that combines the practical facilities for a great conference along with the ability to switch the ambience after a day of concentration to a relaxed, fun environment for guests to network and let their hair down with some fabulous food and drink.

For a unique experience, street level brings you straight into the Booze Lab. With endless signature in-house infusions on display, guests will be looking at shelves upon shelves of Kilner Jars containing the likes of Blue Cheese and Stilton infused Gin and Buttered Rum – a taste of what’s to come later in the afternoon after a hard day’s work!

Heading through a secret passageway (think a hidden Library door), delegates descend down to the Walbrook Room, perfect for an alternative conference up to 200 theatre style or 96 cabaret. Whether you’re looking for a wide-open space or individual rooms for multi-track sessions, Morton Society provides options to offer maximum flexibility for your event.

For post-conference networking, guests can get hands on with the in-house Booze Engineers as they teach the weird and wonderful processes of infusion or provide one of their in-demand Booze Masterclass.

Morton Society is not open to the public and therefore venue hire is always exclusive to you and your guests.

Silver Sturgeon

Why not let your conference venue come to you? The Silver Sturgeon is part of the luxury Silver Fleet of vessels offering the flexibility of docking at a pier of your choice, meaning delegates are only ever minutes away from their London conference venue for the day.

The Silver Sturgeon offers contemporary event spaces in warm, natural colours with pure white, oak, maple and chestnut finishes, ideal for up to 300 delegates in a theatre layout.

Largely a blank canvas, the abundance of natural daylight ensures delegates stay wide awake for the duration of the conference while offering state of the art AV and an open deck for catering breaks and fresh air during nice weather.

Not keen on travelling while presenting? No problem, the Silver Sturgeon can stay docked at your chosen pier on request, allowing guests to embark and depart the venue with ease throughout the day.

Quality catering is a big deal for Silver Fleet and creativity is key so pick from one of their fabulous menu packages or create a bespoke offering with the wonderful team from the venue.

Why not finish off the day with a drink’s reception at the teak upper deck complete with impressive steel and glass bar and a mini river cruise along the Thames as the lights in the City dim.

Spitalfields Venue

If you’re looking for an awe-inspiring London conference venue in Shoreditch but without the eye-watering costs, look no further than the visually stunning Christ Church Spitalfields venue

Within easy reach of Liverpool Street and Aldgate East stations, this historical landmark-built c. 1739 offers unique and flexible events spaces in the heart of the bustling City for up to 350 theatre style or 180 in cabaret.

With plenty of breakout spaces on offer, including The Old Vestry Room and Crypt Hall, you won’t be restricted to The Nave and can take over exclusive use of the venue for your requirements.

Why not add another element to your conference with a Historical Talk organised by the venue or team building activities (they have a whole brochure to choose from) to keep delegates energised and engaged?

With Day Delegate Rates (DDR) starting from just £69 + VAT per person to include venue hire, arrival, mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks, a delicious buffet lunch and a screen and projector – you can’t go wrong in terms of an alternative and cost effective London conference venue with a historical twist.
