After this unusual period of being encouraged to stay indoors and keep apart from loved ones, whenever it ends, we will be more than ready for some rest and relaxation of a different kind. Away from our homes!
During this quiet time, Venue Search London’s love and enthusiasm for hotels and venues can’t be tamed, so we’ve put together a collection of stunning wellness retreats for you to look forward to (later in the year!).
South Lodge Hotel & Spa
Nestled amongst the hilly South Downs, South Lodge Hotel & Spa is a county oasis like no other. With nature at its beck and call, the hotel has incorporated it into every part of the experience from the luxury dining to the brand new natural spa.
Once you arrive, you’re in the second home you never knew you had. Whether you want to read a book from their library by the open fire, play a board game with friends, pop into the open Wine Cellar to try something different (yes there is a wine vending machine), pop on some wellies and take a walk amongst the 93 acre grounds or switch off at the spa, the team are at your service.
The spa is the most anticipated new opening within the Exclusive Hotel collection including an indoor pool, an outside hydrotherapy pool, a wild swimming pool (complete with algae and wild plant life) and a thermal suite.
Want to combine business with pleasure? The beautiful main house at South Lodge offers character filled event space for up to 170 guests.
Sopwell House
Set in Hertfordshire, Sopwell House is a VSL favourite. Filled with history, the Sopwell Nunnery is believed to have been where Anne Boleyn’s secret marriage to King Henry VIII took place. Later becoming home to Lord Mountbatten, the hotel has succeeded in preserving their rich heritage, while bringing a very modern and contemporary twist to decor, creating an atmosphere of complete luxury.
The Cottonmill Spa is open to all hotel guests and members, offering an indoor heated pool, state of the art gym and starlit steam room. Upgrade for access to The Club at Cottonmill and you’ll have additional access to their Hydrotherapy pools, Experience showers, Salt and Botanical steam rooms as well as 5* loungers, cabanas and a fire pit.
If the bedrooms in the Mansion House weren’t beautiful enough, why not stay in a Mews Suite - a collection of rooms and cottages hidden behind private gates. With features such as open fireplaces, private hot tubs, four poster beds, in-room baths and private terraces, what could be a better way to spend downtime with your friends and family?
With the Mansion House providing event space for up to 380 guests as well as access to the extensive terraces and outdoor gardens for private events, Sopwell House is a welcome change of pace for those looking to relax and escape.
The Vineyard
Located in Berkshire, The Vineyard is a luxury 5* hotel and spa with an absolute passion for wine (our kind of place!). With over 30,000 bottles of wine on site, the hotel cannot be beaten when it comes to making a staycation into an experience. Under the ownership of Sir Peter Michael, wine making connoisseur, The Vineyard is home to 49 luxurious suites and the ethos is ‘Eat, Sleep and Drink Wine’. Whether you’re an expert yourself or a novice looking to learn more, all are welcome to this extraordinary hidden gem.
The spa is a circular, glass space overlooking the tranquil hotel grounds and offers a circular pool complete with water jets and a current machine - meaning you can work out as much or as little as you like! You will of course have access to the steam room, sauna and four candlelit treatment rooms with mood lighting and heated treatment beds.
Naturally the culinary experience is just as important as relaxation - the food is quite literally a masterpiece!
