The Standard Hotel Isla Terrace The Standard London Hotel Suite Terrace

With al fresco dining more in vogue (and necessary) than ever this year, rooftop spaces and outdoor terraces have been popping up like crazy and it’s hard to keep up! Here are my top 5 al fresco event and dining spaces in London for Summer 2021...

Sabine, Leonardo Hotel London St Paul’s

The transformed space atop the Leonardo Hotel London St Paul’s is set to be secret oasis amid the City. With stunning views of St Paul's Cathedral (you couldn’t be closer), and with a heated outside terrace and a glass domed roof, every table will offer a superb setting. Even better, a retractable roof means the English weather won’t get in the way of a great night. While capacities are still being confirmed, it’s estimated to accommodate up to 180 guests for a standing reception or 70 for a seated dinner.

  • 93 Feet East, Old Truman Brewery

The Old Truman Brewery has long been a vibrant hub for the East London cultural scene. 93 Feet East offers two large rooms, an outside courtyard and additional spaces and terrace area on the first floor - perfect for live music, DJs, launches, fashion shows, edgy summer parties and more. The east London venue has recently been refurbished and offers a raw, blank canvas space, ideal for branding. This unique and quirky Courtyard space that steps directly off Brick Lane is perfect for street food style events and daytime gatherings. It boasts a permanent bar area and space for additional food and drink vendors, leading upstairs to an additional outdoor terrace area (ideal for a VIP section or just more space!).

  • The Light Bar, Shoreditch

The return of this iconic venue has been eagerly anticipated and The Light Bar has opened their Terrace for the Summer season. Set in an old Victorian power station from 1893, The Light Bar is a modern British bar and restaurant, re-opening under new ownership. The focus is on local produce, seasonal drinks and three floors of unique dining and event space. The key for this new team is sustainability - using produce from their own kitchen garden in Warwickshire and working with small, local farms to provide farm to table, seasonal dishes.

  • The Boathouse London

With event spaces in Paddington East and Paddington West, The Boathouse venues are a fantastic new addition to the increasingly popular ‘boatel’ movement. In partnership with interior design brand MADE.COM, these stationary river boats offer stylish and unique spaces for both events and hotel stays. The adaptable space allows for informal events of up to 40 standing and rooftop table dining for up to 16 guests. The terrace space next to the boat can also accommodate up to 80 guests and can be hired out privately on request.

  • The Standard, London

This quirky hotel brand knows how to host a party and offers an abundance of outdoor event spaces – you won’t know which one to choose!
The Rooftop at the Standard, London will be opening on the 1st of May with panoramic London views, cocktails aplenty and street food delicacies.
The Suite Terrace is the hotel’s largest private suite, located on the 8th floor with panoramic views across the city, wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows, and ample indoor and outdoor seating – ideal for an intimate cocktail reception.
The Isla terrace is a picturesque weather-proofed outdoor space with ample seating. Filled with romantic fairy lights in the evening and complete with a retractable awning, heating, and cosy blankets for extra comfort.
