The Wonderful Wood's Silver Fleet

VSL were very lucky to visit the wonderful Woods Silver Fleet showcase on the Thames. Comprising of 3 stunning venues, Woods Quay, The Silver Sturgeon, and The Silver Barracuda all offering a unique experience just a stone’s throw away from Embankment station.
Arriving at Woods Quay, the newest venue within the collection of the family-owned fleet, we could smell a delicious BBQ on the Cormorant Deck which was close to a portable botanical bar on the Mooring Pontoon, whilst hearing soft sounds of a singing guitarist.
Woods Quay can host up to 250 guests across the East Wing Tasting Room, which has a superb open kitchen for show cooking, and just across the Cormorant Deck is the West Wing Bar, both with floor to ceiling windows. Live music or DJs are licensed until 2am. The venues can be hired separately or simultaneously and all have stunning interiors surrounded by magnificent views of London; a great option for a summer party or, in the cooler months, private dining in one or both wings. It certainly has the ‘wow factor’!
The 61m flagship, Silver Sturgeon, is the largest of the fleet and hosts up to 550 standing or 440 for a seated dinner. The interior is beautifully designed with neutral colours throughout and the extra-large windows ensure there are wonderful views wherever you’re positioned onboard, creating a light and airy event space throughout. Space for a large dance floor or additional seating is situated close to an iconic staircase leading to the top deck, which has a plant-filled bar and even space for a DJ at a summer party!
To conclude, we toured The Silver Barracuda River Yacht. Although the smallest of the fleet hosting up to 200 guests, it certainly doesn’t compromise on quality. The large windows offer views of the river Thames, and a skylight roof can be opened in warmer months. They provide a dancefloor which is situated perfectly in between round tables and contemporary fixed booths. The top deck is smaller in size; however, it offers a great place for guests looking for some fresh air.
Woods’ Silver Fleet offer a variety of food options from sumptuous BBQ’s, mouth- watering bowl foods, fine dining, and seasonal menus for Christmas parties. With the bonus of the luxury vessels offering private central London moorings at multiple locations, making them an impressive collection of event spaces with a unique twist.
