Venue Search London Turns 10 Years Old!

We take a look back at the last ten years of our much-loved boutique venue finding agency, Venue Search London. From booming parties to uplifting awards ceremonies and inspiring conferences, the team at VSL have worked tirelessly to deliver the perfect venue for every event. Here's to many more!
On Friday April 4th 2014, 180 staff from one of the UK’s leading accountancy firms gathered at Floridita Soho for a company celebration. What they did not know, as they sipped cocktails and danced the night away, was that it was the first venue booking placed by Venue Search London. Sadly, Floridita is no longer trading, but ten years on the Venue Search London team are celebrating this important milestone in our evolving story.
From these humble beginnings in a tiny office in Fitzrovia, Venue Search London has steadily grown (with a short Covid break!) and we now have a great team of five venue finders based in our lovely offices at London Bridge, which we share with our colleagues at Story Events.
Since our first booking above, we have found 2,230 venues for over 700 clients and placed bookings with a total value of £37m.
Despite this growth, we remain a boutique business, with our team offering a personalised client service and a vast knowledge of the ever-evolving London venues scene.
And, whilst we love receiving new enquiries from our website, over 70% of our bookings come from our existing clients; and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their loyalty over the years (and for contributing to our 4.9 Google review score!).
Over the years, we have considered changing our name to reflect the increasing number of venues we book outside of the capital, but we like retaining our place in the market as a venue finder based in the heart of London, working mainly for London clients looking for venues to stage events in London. On that basis we think our name fits the offering rather well!
(Despite our name, it has not stopped us from placing bookings for our clients in Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol and Southampton, not to mention Amsterdam, New York and Toronto!)
And finally, it goes without saying (until now!), that we can’t operate without our many great venue partners who look after our clients so well throughout the booking and event delivery process. We are blessed to have such a diverse range of event venues in London, from landmark hotels and stunning historic venues, through to vibrant restaurants and bars, so we would like to extend our thanks to all the venues we have worked with over the past 10 years.
To put our short history into some perspective, over 2,000 years ago Confucius wrote “Roads were made for journeys, not destinations.” We have enjoyed sharing our journey with our clients, venue partners and our team members, past and present. And we look forward to continuing along our road to whatever destination may lie ahead!
