A Showcase with a difference

High quality Nikkei cuisine combined with a master-class in preparing sushi, throw in a Bellini and Chotto Matte hosted a “WOW” showcase! Located on Frith Street, the team learnt that this oriental restaurant offers various event spaces. The private dining area was showed off with a lot of dry ice, alongside this the bar and restaurant generously delivering a flow of Sushi tasters and interactive zones to enable us to get stuck in!
Chotto Matte was constructed with unique décor, each room providing a cool, contemporary atmosphere delivering an escape from London. The team were especially amazed by the over-the-top bathroom décor; we have yet to experience a bar that provides mirrors that light up as you approach them, UV splattered walls and a sink that looks as if its about to overflow! A very cool touch to a high-end cuisine restaurant.
At first chance the team threw themselves into a sushi-preparing masterclass; Maki rolls were pressed, shaped and then served alongside wasabi and ginger- we were all very proud, as they tasted fantastic! In addition, the bar offered a sit-down taster with a variety of delights to grab and try- we even got a private cutlery masterclass from Bea, who’s an expert in handling chopsticks! A new life skill gained there!
As food lovers we were eager to taste adventurous dishes, and octopus proved to be very popular (to our surprise it wasn’t as slimy as you’d first expect!) Alongside octopus, chicken skewers were served, not as adventurous as octopus but by far one of the tastiest chicken dishes that we’ve been treated to. Endless amounts were open-handedly supplied and we left stuffed, a very happy team!
To quench our thirst Bellinis and mocktails were circulated as well as a station to prepare your own margarita! Two mixologists fashioned ingredients together and required the audience to use Boston Shakers and crush fruit; blended and served ice cold, a fruity refreshing margarita was enjoyed.
What made this showcase one to remember were the opportunities to learn new skills within the cuisine and try new tasty treats that were prepared and served in front of our eyes! After this, we all would highly recommend a visit to Chotto Matte, sushi heaven!
