 Venue Safari The Hakkasan Group

The team at Venue Search London love getting out and about seeing new and existing venues, and jumped at the chance when we were invited in to see two quirky Chinese restaurants in the City.

It is always exciting for us when we come across a venue or restaurant that’s a little bit different, something that we’re keen to learn more about. We were lucky enough to be invited in to experience a few of the Hakkasan Group restaurants a few weeks ago, and learn more about their event spaces.

First stop was the beautiful HKK, an intimate restaurant that can be exclusively hired for up to 70 guests. At the back of the restaurant is a great semi private chef’s table that can seat up to 14 guests. It was here that we got a taster of the Peking duck, a delicious dish that just melts in the mouth!

Next stop was Yauatcha City. Overlooking Broadgate Circle, just a stone’s throw away from Liverpool Street station, the restaurant opened last May, following Yuatacha Soho’s success.  The venue boasts a capacity of up to 420 guests exclusively and 2 great outdoor terraces, lending itself well for corporate Summer parties.

As soon as we walked in, it was clear that we had entered a Hakkasan venue, with its signature cool, seductive décor, but with a quirky, circular layout. We first had a tour of the venue, starting with the two outdoor terraces at each end of the restaurant, which can accommodate up to 100 guests standing and overlooking the buzzing Broadgate Circle. They also have a canopy covering the terrace to protect guests from that pesky British weather, whilst still being able to enjoy the Sunshine, should we be so lucky! We were then taken through to the restaurant and bar which can be exclusively hired for dinners for up to 110 guests and standing receptions for up to 420. If you have a slightly smaller group, the space can be split into two and semi privately hired.

Once we’d had the grand tour, we took our seats and were treated to a variety of dishes from the extensive menu, from the fried chilli squid and chicken Shanghai dumpling to the Venison Puff, which was our favourite, something none of us had ever tasted before! We also got to sample the cocktail list and the uniquely flavoured macaroons from the restaurant’s in-house patisserie. The restaurant itself is sure to impress your guests, but the food here is what will really wow them. It is fair to say, we left feeling full and excited to recommend these restaurants to our new and existing client base.

Both HKK and Yauatcha City can be hired for a variety of events, from Summer soirees to evening receptions and Christmas parties. If you are looking to book your event at these contemporary restaurants, enquire with us today.
