How to Motivate your Team in 2018!

Friday 5 January 2018

 Polo in the Park

Motivation is key to getting your team back into fifth gear as the year begins and we believe (I'm sure you'll agree), the best way to motivate is rewards (*cough bribery)! Why not use a day out to incentivise your team to crack on and hit the ground running in 2018.

We know every company is different and teams enjoy different things, so these four choices cover all bases. If your team are the outdoorsy types, into cocktail sipping (or gulping for that matter) or simply enjoy sitting in the dark watching the newest blockbuster, we have you covered

As the sun starts to shine as the months roll on, horses come into the forefront of outdoor activities. I, myself, am not a huge horse lover, but I would still be delighted to go to our first two suggestions and would put in a bit more elbow grease to get my hands on these tickets!

The first is Polo in the Park

It does exactly what it says on the tin: offer your team tickets to watch polo in the beautiful grounds of The Hurlingham Club. With three days of polo to choose from in June, guests can drink champagne, grab some Pimms from the pimms garden or chill in the grand stand watching the polo. Or better still, all three!

This is definitely not to be missed, being between Putney Bridge and Parsons Green, watching Polo without having to leave zone 2 in London is quite spectacular and if you didn't know it was there, this will easily impress

Tickets are on sale now through the website now. This is the prefect January incentive while everyone is dreaming of sunny days and sunglasses

Again, centred around horses, but why not head to Newbury Racecourse. Let the competitive side shine bright and watch the adrenaline pump your team up as they back their chosen horses. Maybe don't let them do what I do, and just pick my favourite name - I never seem to have much luck!

Obviously, as I mentioned, I am not much of a horse lover. Thats the best thing about Newbury, you don't have to go on Raceday, but use it as a beautiful backdrop to a team building event or meeting. Organise a tour and let the grounds be an uplifter for your team. It would impress the whole team, even the feline lovers among them

Perhaps you are trying to appeal to food and drink enthusiasts. Look no further, Gingerline has you covered.

This is an immersive dining experience like no other and the best bit it is top secret. No details are shared until a day before the event where you will be told a location. How down with the kids does that sound?

This is fusion of art, performance, food, drink and design to create an unforgettable experience for all! Put together and run by a team who are all nutty about great food flavours and drinks, I can assure you you will not be diaaspointed. If you bribed me with tickets to this, I know I would get my butt into gear to hit my targets!

Finally, if you know January and February are going to seem relentless at times, why not take it down a notch.

Join Firmdale Hotels for their cinema club. You can get a 3 course lunch or dinner followed by a film in a glamorous and really funky state of the art screening room under one of three of their hotels

If you don't know The Firmdale Hotels, think boutique, exclusive and full of the type of people you want to be. This is perfect if you don't want an adrenaline, outdoor activity, but give your team a more self indulgent treat to help them unwind.

January doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, but spread a bit of office cheer and get everyone excited about something coming up!
