The Brewery have been focusing on increasing their sustainability across their large London venue. This award winning venue have accepted the challenge to raise awareness of the sustainability of wine paired with their menus to incorporate sustainable thinking across all areas of an event... 

Sustainability, nowadays, is more of a necessity than ever before and it is no secret that the events industry is among the most wasteful out there. Event organisers, suppliers and venues need to change their mind set, adapt themselves and think on a long term basis to protect the sustainability of their event and reduce their carbon footprint.

This is a reality that The Brewery has already taken on board and been working towards for many years. Indeed, the award-winning venue incorporates sustainable thinking and actions into their daily practices, from an environmental point of view (from energy conservation, waste minimization, water conservation to single plastic use) but also from a social and economic point of view, by helping various charities every year or by providing a work place based on wellbeing for their employees and suppliers.

It is commonly accepted that being sustainable is a question of what we put on our plates, hence the rising number of vegetarian or vegan guests, but for the sake of the planet, we should also be asking ourselves the following question : “what is being poured into our glasses? “

The sustainability of the wine paired with their menus is often not really questioned so the team behind The Brewery decided to tackle this challenge and raise awareness on this previously ignored subject. The London city venue has published a Forward thinking wine list that would not only be sustainable and care about the planet but would also be vegan and celebrate female winemakers.

The different wines have been carefully selected by The Brewery’s bar manager and are all produced from grapes grown without any chemicals fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides and all attest to the skills and creativity of a new generation of female winemakers against the backdrop of a historically male dominated industry.

These wines are also the perfect addition to all of their incredible vegan & vegetarian food options, and reinforce the place of The Brewery as one of the leading venues of London not only in terms of the quality of the events that take place, but also in terms of economic, environmental and social sustainable forward thinking mind set.
