5 things to do this August Bank holiday in London

We are very excited to welcome the August bank holiday this month.

A reason to get together with friends and family after what has perhaps not been the summer which we originally expected.

Luckily London has lots to offer to keep everyone entertained over the three day weekend.

Here's our top picks of how to make the most of your bank holiday weekend...

Online gigs and festivals

Whilst gigs, festivals and concerts sadly are not expected to return this summer we can all share the experience from home via live streaming.

We will be tuning into Notting Hill Carnival to enjoy a series of free livestreamed events already filmed across the course of a month via the Notting Hill Carnival website.

Or why not bring a touch of Ibiza home and have your very own closing party with our favourite DJ sets from Glitterbox and SW4.

Outdoor Cinemas

Drive in and outdoor cinemas have been hugely popular this summer, keeping us all entertained screening childhood classics to popular new releases.

In particular we have enjoyed visiting Luna Cinema's pop up locations which are set amongst some of the country's finest estates and grounds.

Luna Cinema will be showing a fantastic range of films until October.

Riverside Pub Crawls

Wether you are enjoying a riverside walk North or South of the Thames we can recommend our top spots for summer time drinks.

Ancor Bankside located 3 minutes from Borough market the traditional English pub includes a generous outdoor terrace overlooking the Thames.  The perfect place to enjoy gastro pub favourites and drinks with friends in the summer evenings.

Tattershall Castle is a stationary boat located opposite the London Eye sat on the Thames. The quirky venue offers amazing views which can be enjoyed from the spacious outdoor deck.  Relax and unwind with one of their many refreshing cocktails.

The Oyster shed is a stylish riverside bar and restaurant, located on the North side of the river.  Enjoy panoramic views including Tower Bridge and the Shard from their beautiful alfresco terrace.  Famous for their extensive wine list and fresh dishes being served throughout the day.

City sightseeing and attractions

Sightseeing in the capital is the perfect way to revisit some of London's iconic landmarks and attractions.

We love planing the ultimate day out with Merlin's Magical London, passes start from £70 per person which includes access to six attractions.

Including Madame Tussauds, the London Eye and the London Dungeon to name a few of our favourites!

London's parks

In July 2019, the Mayor of London worked with the National Park City Foundation to make London the first National Park City in the world.

Acknowledging the importance of our green spaces helps to make the city itself greener and a healthier way of living.

Some of our favourite parks to be enjoyed would be Hyde Park where you can enjoy boating on the Serpentine or horse riding to name a few of the park's popular activities.

We also love spending a day in Regent's Park where you can enjoy exploring beautiful rose gardens and or course a fun visit to the ZSL London Zoo.
