Peter Heath in conversation with the VSL team Hospitality Action

We are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring Peter Heath (MD of Venue Performance) as he undertakes next month’s gruelling 1000km 10 day bike ride, which will see Peter tackle the highest cyclable road points England, Scotland and Wales..

Clare Phillips, Account Director at Venue Search London commented “We have witnessed the challenges that many venues have faced in retaining and supporting their hospitality teams as they have experienced poor and variable trading throughout the pandemic. We are therefore delighted to be supporting this worthy cause in our own small way”.

Commenting on his arduous preparations, Peter Heath, MD of Venue Performance, said “At the beginning of the year, it was clear that many people in our industry would continue to face a challenging time. I wanted to do my bit to help them and I decided to partner with Hospitality Action".

"Rather than just talking about it, I decided to set myself a big target of 6 months of gruelling training, followed by 10 days of even more gruelling riding in some of the toughest terrains in the UK.  People only donate/support you when you do something extraordinary, and I feel it's the least I can do to help others in our sector”.

If you would like to join us in supporting Peter’s ride in aid of Hospitality Action, you can join us my making a donation (however small) on his fundraising page here.

About Hospitality Action

Hospitality Action provides financial relief to alleviate poverty for people who work or have worked in UK hospitality. They offer counselling, advice and signposting to people facing mental health challenges or dealing with illness, bereavement, debt or addiction. We also run an outreach programme to keep loneliness at bay for hospitality retirees.

When the first national lockdown began in March 2020, Hospitality Action helped many thousands of hospitality households in financial crisis. Today millions of hospitality workers still can’t go to work, and many thousands have lost their jobs for good.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Hospitality Action has worked tirelessly to help as many people as possible by providing emergency grants to keep food on the table, to assisting vulnerable industry retirees access local support, and by providing mental health resources for those who have struggled during the crisis.
