Merry Mayfair - London's top 5 festive hotels

Wednesday 24 November 2021

 The Dorchester The Berkeley

They say it's the most wonderful time of the year... and when it comes to the festive season London's leading hotels really know how to bring the festive spirit! One of our favourite areas to bring festive cheer has to be Mayfair, home to London's most iconic and festive hotel properties....

Each December, London's leading hotels are transformed and styled for the festive season.  We are very excited to share some of our favourite hotel's themes and decor this Christmas.

The Dorchester

This famous hotel really knows how to set the scene - with a warm welcome through the lobby where the beautifully decorated Christmas tree stands.  Being a more traditionally styled hotel this is represented through their Christmas decor with lots of touches of reds, gold and tartan.

Guests can enjoy a traditional festive afternoon tea served in the iconic promenade.  The hotel's afternoon tea includes an amazing live choir singing Christmas carols throughout the afternoon.

Claridge's

Each year the hotel outdoes itself with its impressive portfolio of designers who have themed their hotel lobby; from  Karl Lagerfeld and Diane von Furstenberg to Christian Louboutin.  This year, the hotel has invited global fashion brand Dior to style their tree, named 'The Celestial Snow Globe' which sparkles with glitter and snowflakes shimmering around the lobby.

Located a stone through away from one of London's most famous shopping destinations Claridge's really is the home of Christmas.

Enjoy a light lunch or treat yourself to a festive cocktail served in their award-winning cocktail bar.  The hotel offers a variety of fine dining options with a relaxed comfortable style this December.

The Ritz

Needing no introduction, The Ritz is one of London's most stunning hotels located in Piccadilly.  This Christmas the hotel have created a 'bubbles and baubles' theme in their famous Palm Court where afternoon tea will be served.

The hotel has hosted an array of exclusive events for the royals, celebrities and featured in many films.  We love the sound of the grand piano and the warming smells of mulled wine being served in their beautiful restaurant.

The Berkeley

The hotel is known for taking a unique and innovative direction with its Christmas theme.  We love their alpine influenced pop up lodges which can be booked throughout December for lunches and dinners.  Offering a Swiss themed menu with lots of cosy touches from faux fur throws and fairy lights.

Mandarin Oriental

Located in one of the world's most desirable areas, the hotel overlooks Hyde Park and the glittering lights of Knightsbridge.  Minutes from Harvey Nicholls and Harrods, the hotel is undoubtedly a festive favourite to visit for a more traditional experience.

Famously known for where the Queen learned to ballroom dance, this hotel offers an experience like no other - from their Michelin star restaurant to exclusive cocktail lounge, this hotel is definitely one of our favourites to visit following an afternoon of Christmas shopping.
