There’s nothing like swapping the London skyline for a waterfront view, especially when it involves five-star luxury, great seafood & ultimate relaxation. This week, we headed to Southampton for our annual AGM, paired with an inspiring Yellow Door Training session.

This week, the Venue Search Team swapped the hustle of London for the salty sea air of the south coast, heading to Southampton for our annual company AGM. Our destination was the stunning Southampton Harbour Hotel perched, as the name suggests, right on the waterfront. We arrived to a view of sleek super-yachts and bobbing sailboats, a welcome change from our usual city skyline!

After checking in, we kicked things off with a tour of the fabulous, yacht-shaped hotel. An uber-cool five-star spot, the hotel has floor-to-ceiling windows that flood every corner with natural light. Boasting 85 beautiful rooms and 6 luxurious apartments, this place makes quite the impression.

Our first stop was The Bow, the hotel’s largest event space. Spanning 272 square metres, this versatile room can host receptions for up to 300 guests or seat 220 for a dinner-and-dance. It is even complete with a brand-new, shiny dance floor and two-story windows framing the marina like a painting. Even better, the dance floor opens onto a sprawling terrace, perfect for summer BBQs or stargazing on a crisp night during a Christmas party.

For our AGM, we gathered in The Needles, the hotel’s collection of sleek, modern meeting rooms. With capacity for up to 150 guests theatre-style, these spaces are the perfect blend of clean design and waterfront inspiration. It was here we spent the afternoon diving into business, reflecting on last year, and plotting for the year ahead as a united team.

Once the strategy sessions wrapped, we split up to soak in the hotel’s amenities. The luxury spa was a tranquil oasis, some of us braved the state-of-the-art gym, while others relaxed in the spacious bedrooms. What truly stood out was the serenity of Southampton Harbour Hotel.

Dinner took us to HarBar, the hotel’s buzzing rooftop restaurant and bar. By night, the atmosphere was electric, yet effortlessly relaxing. It was the perfect setting to toast another brilliant year as London’s leading venue finders. The food was brilliant and unsurprisingly, the seafood dishes were the stars of the show!

Day two began bright and early, with the team gathering for the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Ahead of us was a training day with the brilliant Emilie from Yellow Door, a session we always look forward to. Emilie brings such passion and insight, and her guidance is invaluable. As a team, taking time to reflect on our business, celebrate last year’s wins, and pinpoint areas to grow is essential. Our clients mean the world to us, so we are constantly striving to be the best we can be. Emilie challenges us to think outside the box and push boundaries, something we all need when caught up in the day-to-day whirlwind. Her fresh perspective will undoubtedly set us up for success in the new financial year.

All in all, our time in Southampton was nothing short of fabulous. A massive thank you to the incredible team at Southampton Harbour Hotel for looking after us so well. Another huge shoutout to Emilie at YellowDoor for her wisdom and energy. We are very excited to put her training into action and look forward to seeing her again soon.
