Planning a Corporate Event in Surrey? Balloons In Bloom at Beaverbrook
Tuesday 4 August 2026
Let's be honest – not all corporate events are created equal. We've all sat through conferences in windowless meeting rooms, counted down the minutes in uninspiring seminar spaces, and wondered why business events can't be a little more… enjoyable.
Nestled in the rolling Surrey Hills, Beaverbrook combines the grandeur of a historic country estate with the modern facilities today's businesses need. Whether you're planning a strategy day, product launch, board meeting, company celebration or team away day, it's a hotel that effortlessly balances professionalism with personality.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a guided tour of the Estate in the morning, followed by lunch at the Balloons in Bloom experience with fellow agency owners. An experience to remember, Balloons in Bloom kicked off with a refreshing cocktail, inspired by Beaverbrook’s blooming gardens, followed by a five-course journey through Japanese flavours: a tartar platter, seasonal salad, an immersive open-flame yakiniku barbecue, and a spectacular origami matcha pudding.
The best business events often happen outside the meeting room. Whether it's networking over exceptional food, enjoying drinks on the terrace, or taking advantage of the estate's outdoor spaces for team-building activities, Beaverbrook creates opportunities for colleagues to connect in a more relaxed setting.
Before we could relax though, a deep dive into the glorious event spaces:
The Orangery
The largest of Beaverbrook's dedicated event spaces, The Orangery is flooded with natural daylight and enjoys views across the Surrey Hills, along with its own private terrace. It's ideal for conferences, product launches and networking events, accommodating up to 80 guests theatre-style, 65 cabaret, 35 boardroom, 36 classroom, 24 hollow square, or 75 for receptions and private dining. As a self-contained space, it offers both privacy and flexibility for larger corporate events.

The Writer's Block
Tucked away within The Village, The Writer's Block offers a more secluded setting that's perfect for workshops, strategy sessions and team away days. Filled with natural light, it can host up to 26 for a boardroom meeting or private dining, making it ideal for collaborative meetings where creativity takes centre stage.
Faithfully reconstructed on the site of the original Victorian Mickleham Downs Estate’s workers cottages, The Village cottages offer a total of 21 individual guest suites all named after literary and artistic giants of the Romantic, Victorian and Edwardian eras. Each room exudes their own unique personality and charm. Together with The Writer's Block event space and the on site Mrs. Beeton's restaurant, The Village is perfect for exclusive hires away from The House for a corporate retreat.
The Aitken Room
For executive meetings or private discussions, The Aitken Room combines elegant wood panelling with classic country house charm. The space comfortably accommodates up to 16 guests in a boardroom or private dining layout, creating an intimate environment for high-level meetings or client presentations.
The Maxwell Room
Ideal for smaller board meetings, interviews or focused planning sessions, The Maxwell Room overlooks the estate's beautiful grounds and is equipped with a 75-inch presentation screen. It accommodates up to 14 delegates, offering a refined setting with all the technology needed for productive meetings.
The WildKitchen
For centuries, food has brought people from every walk of life together, sharing moments and crafting memories. The WildKitchen continues that tradition in Beaverbrook’s woodland, with a sensational open-air feast that celebrates the bounty of the great outdoors, using locally sourced ingredients and open-flame cooking. This private Chef’s Table experience seats up to 24 guests, in conjunction with the adrenaline fuelled Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

If you're looking for an out of town venue to host a corporate away day that combines outstanding facilities, beautiful surroundings and first-class hospitality, Beaverbrook offers an unforgettable setting that's every bit as impressive as the agenda you've got planned.
