The Marylebone & The Bloomsbury: Two London Gems for Corporate Events

Wednesday 7 October 2026

 The Bloomsbury Hotel Event Spaces

Last weekend, Bea had the pleasure of a staycation at The Marylebone Hotel, in the heart of West London. The visit was designed to explore the event spaces, and to discover what makes both The Marylebone and its sister property, The Bloomsbury, such compelling choices for corporate events.

The weekend kicked off with a site visit and dinner at 108 Brasserie. Set on the cobbled streets of Marylebone Lane with its own entrance and striking brick-red façade, the brasserie strikes a lovely balance between local neighbourhood buzz and cosy Irish hospitality. It's an ideal setting for informal business dinners or team celebrations, and it gave us a warm introduction to what the hotel is all about.

The next morning began with a sound bath in Number Six, one of the hotel's largest event spaces. With sunlight streaming through the windows, the entire team nearly drifted back to sleep, which speaks volumes about the calming atmosphere this room can create. We then took a short trip over to The Bloomsbury to explore its gorgeous hospitality offerings, and it was well worth the journey.

The Marylebone

Let's start with The Marylebone. Its event spaces were designed by award-winning architecture firm Michaelis Boyd and are spread across the ground and first floors. They feature abundant natural light, integrated media screens, independently controlled lighting and sound systems, and characterful touches like open fireplaces and skylights. The hotel's conference facilities include six naturally lit, air-conditioned meeting rooms, accommodating up to 65 delegates and competitive DDR rates.

In total, The Marylebone's event spaces span capacities from 2 to 120 guests, with a mix of ground-floor lounges, drawing rooms, a rooftop terrace and suites. The Blue Room, which can be divided into two, holds up to 80 guests for receptions or 60 theatre-style. The Library, also divisible, takes up to 44 for receptions and is perfect for intimate board meetings or small workshops. The Long Room, again divisible, accommodates up to 65 for receptions and works well for mid-sized meetings and training. Number Six is the largest space, with a reception capacity of 160 guests, while Palm Room II can host up to 120. These spaces can also be combined flexibly. For example, the Courtyard, Blue Room and Library connect to host receptions of up to 120 guests.

The Bloomsbury Hotel

Now onto The Bloomsbury, which sits in the heart of London's West End, just steps from Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden. The hotel offers 13 meeting and event spaces, four of which are architecturally unique, with a total capacity of up to 320 guests. The standout spaces are two magnificent ballrooms. George V Hall on the ground floor spans 266 square metres, with high ceilings, original tall windows and bespoke Waterford crystal chandeliers. It seats up to 200 theatre-style, 180 for dinner, 250 for a reception or 120 cabaret-style. Queen Mary Hall on the second floor spans 262 square metres and features high ceilings, bespoke Adam Ellis Studio murals and Waterford crystal chandeliers, with the option of a separate bar area. It seats up to 180 theatre-style, 160 for dinner, 200 for a reception or 90 cabaret-style.

For more intimate occasions, there's The Chapel, a double-height former chapel designed by Lutyens that seats 18 boardroom-style or 24 for dinner, and The Seamus Heaney Library, a book-lined space named after the Nobel laureate that houses hundreds of 1930s first editions and seats 40 theatre-style or 20 for dinner. There are also the Tavistock Suites, flexible blank-canvas lower-ground spaces for up to 180 theatre-style, and the Bedford Suites, smaller meeting rooms suited to boardroom or theatre layouts.

So which hotel suits which event?

The Marylebone is best suited to events that call for modernity, flexibility and natural light. Think mid-sized corporate meetings and training sessions, informal cocktail receptions and team socials, intimate board meetings and executive retreats, or events requiring multiple smaller spaces running in parallel.

The Bloomsbury, on the other hand, is better suited to events that need a sense of occasion and historic atmosphere. Think large conferences and industry forums, with George V Hall seating up to 200 theatre-style, awards dinners and annual celebrations, brand activations and product launches that need a memorable backdrop.

Both hotels sit in the heart of London's West End, within walking distance of Oxford Street, Regent Street and major transport links. For event planners looking for London venues, these two properties together offer a complete capacity spectrum from 2 to 320 guests, and a full range of styles from contemporary minimalism to historic elegance.

A huge thank you to our fabulous hosts Selena, Bruno and Rita for such a memorable experience.
