With the success of Skylight at Tobacco Dock this summer, one of London's favourite rooftop venues has expanded their offering into the South East with their brand new opening at Skylight Peckham. Venue Search London were lucky enough to be invited to this brand new venue's launch party...
Located between Peckham Library and Mountview College, Skylight Peckham offers stylish and cosy interiors with colourful lounge-style seating and premium booths atop an unrivalled terrace. The sister venue to Skylight Tobacco Dock does not disappoint.
Whilst the venue offers an enormous wrap around terrace with views aplenty, Skylight Peckham is not just for the summer. With plenty of space indoors, floor to ceiling windows ensure that your guests won't miss out on the view even if the weather is a little chilly outside. The sunny beach vibe interior creates a fun party atmosphere whether indoors or out, and the gorgeous food and creative cocktails perfected by award-winning mixologist Sebastian Hollingworth, will keep everyone in high spirits. With the lights dimming as the sun goes down over the London skyline, the venue creates a perfect atmosphere whatever the time of day (or night!).
Skylight Peckham has live music planned five nights a week; you can choose from beers and beats under big skies to the chilled tones of jazz as you sip cocktails...or treat your friends and colleagues to an exclusive evening, including a live BBQ demonstration on the terrace with some of the UK’s best chefs serving up a sizzling banquet and Hennessy on hand with ice-cold summer coolers.
The menu is based around local sourced food and sharing is the name of the game, with small plates and generous sharing platters on offer. Thankfully, our hungry team were able to order almost everything on the menu (and I'm pretty sure we did!) and what a feast it was. The grilled Poussin with parmesan crispy ratte potatoes, truffle honey vinaigrette and bitter leaf salad went down a treat, as did the Gochujang glazed Seabream, with kimchi pancakes and cucumber ketchup...
Washed down with a glass of their signature cocktail, Clarified Bees Knees (a generous serving of Belvedere Vodka balanced with their local Peckham honey mix and clarified for a crisp taste with a clear martini style), we were rolling out of Skylight happy, full, and feeling like we'd been on a little holiday in the midst of London's south east.
