If you missed it, we're sorry...if you made it, you're welcome! The London Christmas Party Show was a must-attend event for agencies and corporate event buyers alike, seeking the very best venues and inspiration for virtual and live events. We hosted our Top New Venues seminar once again...

With over 100 bespoke venues, hotels, clubs, restaurants, bars, gifting, virtual and other creative suppliers exhibiting, LCPS is not just for Christmas! Our attendees discovered the very best selection of venue and supplier options for corporate events from 10 to 3,000 guests (yes people are booking those!). 

Not only did Story showcase a multitude of event caterers & suppliers, guests took part in interactive workshops, enjoyed complimentary food & drinks and had exclusive access to our inspirational and informative free seminar programme.

Of course, in the interest of safety, the event was operated under our 8 point safety plan.

Venue Search London host a popular 'Top New Venues' seminar at both the London Christmas Party Show and The London Summer Event Show, and we love it! Full of info about the latest new openings in and around London, we also gave our top tips on booking for this year as well as the top trends we're seeing for 2021. This year we (and our guests) had the pleasure of using headphones from the Silent Noize Events team to ensure everyone could hear all the lovely newsy bits we had to share.

Here's a little sneak peak of some of the Top Tips we shared at LCPS 2021:

Guests are MORE flexible

For the last 18 months, working from home, has become the norm for many of our corporate clients - meaning Thursday's and Friday's are no longer the only options being considered. If your guests know they can work from home the following day in their slippers - the day of the week no longer factors into decision making so much, meaning a much better (read cost effective) package for you!

Not only have guests become more flexible with dates...but with location too! With much of the City still quiet and, again, people travelling from home, our clients are finding their guests much more willing to venture further out from the usual 5 minute office walk.

The Social Committee

Usually a dreaded concept for agencies (think 5 enquiries from the same company all looking for different things), committees can take the stress out of organising one of the company's biggest events of the year! If you get together and sit down with the committee prior to approaching a venue finder, you can work out if the majority want a theme, want an activity (or not!), what location and what price point you prefer...ironing out these details beforehand saves you all a lot of time and frustration, and ensures you get a concise shortlist of the most suitable venues from the get-go.

VAT

Not usually a favourite topic of conversation but one well worth clearing up before the venue search. Many companies have strict protocols and cut-offs in place for spend on a social gathering, and this includes rules around VAT. Check with your finance department prior to the search, to ensure you know whether your budget is inclusive or exclusive of VAT and whether there are any strict brackets you need to stick to. Always a sad day when the venue has been chosen and the team are really excited...only to be rebuffed when the invoice reaches finance.
