VIP launch evening at Clays

Clays has to be one of the most anticipated venue openings of 2021, with their unique and innovative approach to the activity bar scene. Located in Moorgate, there has already been a huge buzz around this fab new venue, and the VSL team were fortunate enough to attend their VIP launch night...
The venue concept has been designed with particular attention to detail around not only the technology, created bespoke for Clays, but the food and drink offering too. With their floor to ceiling 4k video screens and a tech loaded rifle to shoot moving targets on the screen, you're guaranteed an immersive experience.
The venue has been styled as a luxury space, with plush velvet and gold furnishings and includes stunning life size trees bringing some of the countryside vibe to central London.
We were able to enjoy Clays virtual game first hand (and show off our competitive side!). What made Clays really stand out from its competitors on the activity bar scene, is its focus on not only the atmosphere and service but their creative food & drink menu.
Clays Michelin star Culinary Director, has created a premium grazing style menu including fresh oysters (complete with mini Tabasco bottle), to venison scotch eggs, chocolate cigars and cured salmon with yuzu, soy mayo, watercress & charcoal crisp. Sharing food has kicked up a notch!
Not to mention their extensive cocktail menu which has taken influence from country-esque beverages - our favourite has to be the 'Sloegasm' - a mouthwatering combination of sloe gin, white wine, and cherry vermouth.
The launch evening had a fantastic energy and buzz with a live DJ, some celebrity guests and A LOT of delicious food and drink circulated amongst the VIP guests.
This year we have seen a trend and demand for activity/ team building venues for a way to bring everyone back together after coming out of lockdown and working remotely.
Clays have already become a hugely popular choice amongst our own clients for Christmas parties, where we can offer flexible options for either semi-exclusive or full venue hire depending on party size.
The venue is split across two floors with a total combined standing capacity of up to 360 which includes a VIP lounge on the ground floor, perfect for numbers up to 80. The VIP lounge consists of three individual activity 'pegs' for groups to split and enjoy, plus your own private bar for that VIP service.
The main event space is fully open plan with a statement feature bar with plenty of pink, green and neutral soft hues and rose gold finishings. Guests can enjoy grabbing a cocktail at the bar, sitting amongst the foliage or, of course, participating in individual pegs for the game itself.
