Who doesn’t love a new venue? We certainly do! So, on Wednesday, 24th November we treated some of our most loyal clients to an evening at a brand new indoor virtual clay shooting experience bar, which opened its first site on 1st November in the heart of the City...
Situated in Moorgate, Clays is the first of its kind to use world-class technology that fully simulates Olympic clay shooting.
On arrival we were greeted by a striking tweed-clad doorman who escorted us downstairs into a large subterranean, luxurious and picture-perfect cocktail bar, decorated with dark green and earthy pink tones. Its centre piece being a stunning red marble horseshoe bar surrounded on three sides by twelve shooting ‘pegs’, (basically semi-private booths).
Here we were introduced to our “shoot captain” (our host) with a glass of bubbles and a finger-friendly menu (created by Roger Olsson – formerly of The Dorchester and The Ritz) of shareable light bites of Cured Salmon with Yuzu and Charcoal Crisp, Crispy Chicken Sliders with Kimchi and Jalapeño, together with their signature sharers Arabic Khobez and Coriander Naan ‘Food On Bread’, all paired with perfectly poured premium cocktails. The food and service was incredible!
Spanning two floors, Clays is available for exclusive hire for up to 360 standing guests or semi-private hire for up to 150 standing guests, as well as accommodating large group bookings.
The pegs are available to book for groups from six to twenty people for a ninety minute session, each featuring mammoth 4k screens, a bunch of very realistic (but decommissioned) shotguns, and a built-in touchscreen to both order your food & drinks, and to choose the games you’d like to play.
There are a whole bunch of games to choose from, ranging from old-school clay capping action (with different colours, speeds, etc.) and a peloton style bike race to ‘Moon Shot’, which cleverly balances the action by allowing the lower-scoring players to knock the leaders off their pedestal, keeping the game constantly competitive. An entertaining experience was had by all!
