The National Maritime Museum is the largest event venue in the Royal Museums Greenwich portfolio with a capacity of up to 1000 for standing events and 550 for gala or awards dinners or wedding receptions. It's central atrium provides two different spaces, allowing for reception drinks at ground level on Ocean Court before guests head up on to Ocean Map at the mezzanine level for the dinner. Guests can explore galleries like the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Exhibition, experiences like the Astronomer's Takeover, or simply enjoy the large artefacts like Prince Frederick's Barge and Miss Britain III on display within the main event space. In fine weather, the museum's plentiful outdoor space offers the opportunity for a outdoor drinks reception or full summer party.

Oceans Court – Situated at the heart of the museum, Oceans Court marries eighteenth-century classical-style architecture with a modern glass ceiling, flooding the space with soft natural light.

Ocean Map – A mezzanine level in the centre of Oceans Court, surrounded by installations from our maritime collection. In this modern, open space, we can sit up to 550 for dinner, with space remaining for a dance floor.  

The Square - Surrounds the Oceans Map at ground level in Oceans Court. Here your guests can wander through the museum’s galleries and prized exhibits and enjoy a drink before dinner. 

The Colonnades - Your guests can venture out along The Colonnades alongside sweeping views of Greenwich Park.

The Lawns – Included in your hire is one lawn, our Southwest Lawn overlooking Greenwich Park.
