VSL Team at Pennyhill Park Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa

This week the entire VSL team were lucky enough to attend our annual company offsite at Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa. This renowned country house hotel is situated amidst 120 acres of parkland near Bagshot in Surrey.

Although the immediate vicinity may not have many attractions, the world-famous Windsor Park is a mere 11 miles away, whilst the vibrant town of Ascot is just a short 15-minute drive from the estate. The hotel boasts an award-winning spa, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and is famously home to the England Rugby Team - with a fully equipped training ground and facilities for both the men and women of England Rugby.

Out of the 124 guest rooms, many feature their own unique design, ensuring a distinct experience for each and every guest. Some rooms prioritise classical elegance with dark woods, patterned wallpaper and luxurious floor-to-ceiling drapes, whilst others embrace a more modern aesthetic, with white brick walls and minimalist colour schemes. Despite their cosy ambiance, the rooms are surprisingly spacious, complete with unique and noticeable amenities; including horizontal rainforest showers, Molton Brown amenities and my personal favourite - an old-fashioned string doorbell. However, for those opting for a more indulgent stay, the hotel's suites promise an array of added extras, ranging from carved wooden four-poster beds, double baths and even an eight-person hot tub!

Whilst at Pennyhill, we were taken on a full site visit to view all of the impressive event spaces available for private hire. From the magnificent Balmoral Suite with crystal chandeliers and ornate décor, to the charming and traditional Library in the main house; each space is designed to impress. The Water Lily and Park View suites are situated next to one another and can be used in combination; perfect for a conference accompanied with a separate dedicated catering space.

In addition, the hotel offers a number of smaller boardrooms, as well as the Hillfield Bar and Restaurant, the Lily Pond Terrace and of course, the world class rugby pitch if you’re looking to put a twist on things! Whether you’re looking to host a corporate conference, a lavish drinks reception, or an intimate gathering; the hotel offers a variety of spaces to suit every occasion.

We also spent some time relaxing in the Spa at Pennyhill Park. The spa offers an array of world-class facilities including an outdoor hydrotherapy pool, an indoor hot tub, and outdoor Canadian hot tubs. As well as an expansive thermal suite, featuring a number of different amenities designed to invigorate the senses. From herbal saunas to steam rooms, a mud treatment room, foot spas, a cold plunge pool, an ice room and sensory experience showers; there's something to suit every preference and mood. The spa also offers 23 treatment rooms, where guests can indulge in a variety of massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, and pedicures. With expert therapists and all of these amenities to choose from, a visit to Pennyhill Park's spa promises to leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and totally pampered.

One final detail to mention, is the hotel’s dedicated commitment to sustainability. The venue emphasises the importance of hyper-local dining, proudly showcasing come of the finest produce from Surrey and the surrounding counties beyond. By prioritising locally sourced produce, the hotel reduces their carbon footprint whilst also supporting the livelihoods of local farmers and food suppliers. This commitment to sustainability goes beyond just sourcing local ingredients, since Pennyhill implement a 'farm-to-fork' philosophy, utilising every part of the produce to minimise waste and maximise flavour. From “root to stem”, the chefs find creative ways to incorporate every element of the ingredients used, to ensure that nothing goes to waste.

From start to end, our experience at Pennyhill Park was nothing short of exceptional! The venue provided a picturesque setting with beautiful surroundings, luxurious accommodation, and top-tier amenities which meant our annual company offsite was a wonderful experience; and it’s safe to say the entire team had an unforgettable time.
