When considering the sustainability of your next conference or business event, there are a number of key considerations. Foremost of all is travel, which accounts for over 50% of the carbon emissions on the vast majority of events. Ensuring your venue is close to train or underground stations can reduce your emissions hugely, whilst conferences held at country house hotels encourage delegates to drive to your chosen venue, with this mileage being added to you carbon footprint.
Using a venue with excellent live streaming technologies will enable some more distant delegates to attend remotely, with locally sourced menus, renewable energy usage and on-site filtered water all adding to the carbon reduction.

Working with these two organisations, we have created a “Green Leaf” icon system on our London Venue listings to demonstrate venues’ journey and achievements towards hosting more sustainable events in London, where three leaves is equivalent to God or Platinum certification on either platform, two leaves for Silver and one leaf for Bronze.
