Evelyn's Table Intimate Countertop Kol's Private Dining Experience

Michelin Star madness has swept over London, with 9 new restaurants taking their place on this prestigious list. We're so excited to share some of our personal highlights from the new London restaurants who have earned their sparkling stars.

Our capital is renowned as a foodie hot spot, but the Michelin Star Guide offers us the chance to find elevated eateries right on our doorstep.

This year seven restaurants have been awarded one star and two restaurants have gained their second star. We've listed our personal favourites below, so clear your calendars and get your elasticated waistband wardrobe ready for some delicious dining!

Sollip

Unassuming and uniquely personal. This hidden gem is located on a Bermondsey side street, right round the corner from The Shard, and in fact the Venue Search London HQ. Sollip is the Korean word for Pine Needle, is used in traditional Korean cuisine to control flames and smoke food. This technique was notably used when preparing dishes that required the most care.

The restauranteurs, a husband and wife team, wholeheartedly embrace this ethos and share it with all their guests. The cuisine they present stems from European and French styles, alongside Korean techniques and ingredients that have shaped their upbringing. It is also coloured by the memories and time spent in London, which creates an inspirational menu that showcases an impeccable attention to detail.

Evelyn's Table

Beyond the hustle and bustle of Soho, you’ll find this intimate, twelve-seater counter-dining venue. It is run by a trio of brothers, with chef Luke Selby taking the lead on an ever-evolving menu. The influences are vibrant and varied. From locally sourced British produce, Japanese culture and classic French techniques which were honed by Luke as he trained at a number of multiple Michelin Star venues. Most notably, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay (***) and Hide Above (*), where he won the Roux Scholarship in 2017.

Ultimately, their ability to craft bespoke menus with sophisticated dishes makes it an exquisite culinary experience for private dining.

Kol

This is the UK’s first Mexican Michelin-starred restaurant and we can certainly see why! Kol is colourful, imaginative and vivacious. This venue specialises in authentic Mexican cuisine, with regional and recognisable dishes that have a modern, high-end twist.

The tasting menu, whether you opt for the 6 or 9 dish option, includes the finest British seasonal ingredients to recreate and reflect the bright, fresh flavours of Mexican cooking.  However, the best way to experience KOL is via the Chef's Table and Mezcaleria for private dining and events.

Descend the spiral staircase to your own private sanctuary and immerse yourself in the culture and theatre of KOL. This is inspired by a traditional Oaxacan home kitchen, where a dedicated team of chefs will cook for you and your guests, giving you a first-hand insight into the KOL kitchen and the stories behind their food.

Frog by Adam Handling

This restaurant encapsulates modern fine dining, which are delightfully delicious but also gorgeous to look at too.

They offer set menus, which are are mind-blowing and memorable even in the saturated Covent Garden area. Moreover, many of their dishes are rooted in sustainability and seasonality, meaning many dietary requirements can be covered.

If you're looking for a fun and theatrical venue, food that is flourished with finesse and extra special chef-to-table service - then this is a must-try Michelin star restaurant!
