Our trip to South Lodge

Monday 3 June 2019

Last week the team were utterly spoilt with a trip to the Sussex Downs to experience the beautiful South Lodge Hotel, part of the family run Exclusive hotel group. The 5* hotel is less than an hour from Central London in the quiet country town of Horsham, ideal for offsites and retreats away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Built in 1883, South Lodge Hotel & Spa is an impressive former family country house with 84 individually designed bedrooms so no two are the same. Some have huge four poster beds, some have balconies, many have remarkable views, and all have spacious and well-equipped bathrooms featuring aqua vision televisions.

The newly opened spa (which is set to compete with its sister hotel Pennyhill Park) includes an infinity pool, infused sauna, herbal steam rooms, state of the art gym, studio classes, 14 nature themed treatment rooms, nail salon and male grooming bar. The spa also has a botanical restaurant with scenic views and alfresco terrace dining that offers a mainly plant based Mediterranean influenced menu.

The hotel has 12 bright and spacious meeting rooms situated across three floors in their own wing, several with their own outside terraces with direct access to the lawns. They really do have a space for every event, from to 15 to 170 guests, as well as offering exclusively use of the hotel for maximum confidentiality and security.

There are many different dining options, all of which can be privatised and incorporated into your event: the stylish Camellia Restaurant complete with al fresco dining in the warmer months, The Cellar which offers over 200 wines to choose from by the glass, and The Pass which has glass walls into the kitchen enabling diners to see first-hand the creativity and theatre of a busy restaurant.
